My name is Quinn Stedman born in the suburbs of Illinois. I moved to the beautiful state of Colorado in September of 2014. I moved to Colorado to pursue an education and career in energy efficiency, I also always wanted to be somewhere close to the mountains with beautiful scenery!

I graduated with an Associate in Arts degree in Illinois, and Associates in Applied Science with a Residential Energy Management degree at EcoTech institute in Colorado. I love to be outdoors whenever I can, whether that be hiking in the summer or snowboarding in the winter. I’m also a big Blackhawks fan!!!

Q: Top three (3) highlights of my life?

A: Moving to Colorado! I’ve met so many amazing people, landed the job in the field I’ve wanted, and learned how to snowboard, which is where you will find me every weekend during the winter! I recently just bought tickets to go to Maui; this is definitely a highlight since I have never been on a trip like this with friends!

Q: People would be surprised to know __________ about me.

A: I LOVE to hula-hoop.

Q: Who has been influential in your life?

A: My mother has been very supportive of my dreams, always, and has been a great role model!

Q: If you could pick one topic (or theme) for AboutSavingHeat.com to turn into a book, what would it be?

A: The tales of a wacky crew saving the environment, one home at a time.

Q: What do you feel is the most beneficial energy improvement a homeowner can make?

A: The most beneficial improvement I think a homeowner can do to be more energy efficient is simple little things. Switching out all lights to LED, turning off lights when leaving rooms, unplugging appliances when not using them, running cold water when washing your clothes. Simple things will help conserve energy! Air sealing is also a big one!

Q: If you could have one super power, what would it be?

A: I would have the ability to transport myself to any place I can imagine.

Q: If you could spend half a day with a person from history, who would it be and why?

A: This is tough, I’d have to say Elvis Presley, he’s still the king!

Q: What is the weirdest job you have had?

A: My first serving job was at a sports bar called Rookies Sports Bar and Grill. We would have $1 burgers a few times during the summer, with cheese as an upcharge. There was a few times that I would see customers pull cheese out of their pocket or purse so they wouldn’t have to pay the $1 extra. This always became a very awkward conversation...

Q: Where was your last vacation?

A: Well, my upcoming vacation will be Hawaii; I’m very excited about this! But my last vacation was a trip back home to Chicago, then a road trip to Virginia with some really great old friends of mine to a music festival. It was a blast!!!

Q: If you could be any animal, which would you be?

A: A turtle! They are awesome!
